Raise tenant and customer satisfaction by sharing critical infrastructure information via a shared interactive map and by allowing individuals to more quickly and accurately report maintenance service requests

Competing for your customers’ business, and keeping your customers, tenants, terminal operators and the local citizens happy can be a challenge, but the NSG Port Solution can give you a head start.

Long-term operators take on the responsibility for operating port terminals for decades. Ports that are able to accurately map the assets that they pass on to tenants make the lease terms more attractive, and ports that share their web maps make it easier for tenants to access critical engineering and maintenance information. In the reverse direction, allowing tenants to contribute to the digital mapping of the port helps port authorities capture and record the changes made by tenants during their lease, rather than waiting for the end of the lease to find out. This helps ports be more proactive about their preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and compliance monitoring.

The responsibility for maintaining leased assets is shared by ports and tenants and can be governed by a confusing matrix of rules, often related to where assets are located. Furthermore, the communication of service requests and work orders between tenants and ports can be greatly facilitated by allowing tenant and port staff to record and report these directly from mobile devices in the field. This integration is also important for the shared responsibility of keeping port safe and secure. At the Port of Oakland, the port security team are providing that transparency by publishing terminal-specific versions the NSG Port Solution interactive map available for desktop browsers as well as mobile devices with WiFi or data connectivity. Each terminal operator has access to port data specific to their terminal, including utilities, shut offs and live camera feeds.
