With staff in Porirua, Auckland, Tauranga, Hastings, Nelson and Queenstown, NSG is pleased to announce that Christchurch based GIS Consultant Stephen Ferriss has joined the team. Stephen was driven to pursue a GIS career after observing that the radio tracking of Kakapo on Maud Island, (Te Hoiere) in the Marlborough Sounds, would be greatly enhanced with GIS spatial analysis. Since then Stephen has managed departmental spatial databases for the Department of Conservation and was instrumental in establishing mapping support to the New Zealand Police during the recent Christchurch earthquake response.
Stephen brings with him high level GIS analyses, at a national scale, and an in-depth knowledge of national datasets – he is a welcome addition to the NSG team.
