Beryl Pimblott

Beryl is a GIS Consultant with 30 years experience as a Cartographer. She has 20 years’ experience working with computer-aided mapping and GIS-based technologies.
She was a cartographer with the former Department of Lands and Survey. For the last fourteen years Beryl has focused on the provision of GIS contract and consultancy services with a special focus on mapping, database design, and the development of GIS databases to support database-driven mapping projects.
Beryl was team leader for the provision of aeronautical charting services to the Airways Corporation and Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand producing high quality multi-scale mapping output from a database-driven system.
The Aeronautical Charting Project has attracted International recognition, winning 1st Place in the ‘Best Map Series or Atlas’ section at the 2003, 23rd International ESRI User Conference.
Beryl was born in the UK and moved to New Zealand at a young age. She lives in Whitby with her husband David. Their daughter is presently overseas, and their son has recently returned from overseas. She enjoys gardening, visiting art galleries, and martial arts, and has been head instructor of a Taekwon-do Club for the past 13 years.
