David Pimblott

A GIS Consultant with more than 30 years experience as a Cartographer, David has 20 years’ experience working with computer-aided mapping and GIS based technologies
David was a cartographer with the former Department of Lands and Survey and subsequently worked with PetroCorp Exploration as Draughting Services Manager gaining responsibility for the management of the first major INTERGRAPH systems in New Zealand.
David was responsible for the establishment of ESRI software in New Zealand whilst working for the current New Zealand ESRI Distributor. During this time a relationship with more than 35 clients in local, regional, and central government, forestry, universities, demographic and environmental applications ensured that David gained experience with the issues related to practical GIS implementation.
David emigrated from the UK and moved to New Zealand after completing his secondary education. He lives in Whitby with his wife Beryl. David enjoys music and movies, and in his spare time is a coarse angler, who has represented New Zealand against Australia for the last six years.
