ike™: X-Ray Vision

NSG is at the forefront of the development of applications for ike. X-Ray Vision is an example of our innovative approach to crafting business solutions. X-Ray Vision provides extensive GIS information such as building floor plans, ownership details, and other property information etc which is accessible in the field via the ike device. Users can point the ike at a building or feature of interest and literally "see through walls" to gain critical information about any object ike is pointed at. Utilising any existing spatial information ike can retrieve relevant information without the users knowing where they are or what they are looking at. Details of such capability can be extended to include possible functions such as:

  • Show the location on a high resolution orthophotography of an area using the GPS location.
  • Capture a point and some digital photos – for example a telecom antenna requiring maintenance.
  • Identify some buildings with X-Ray – up to one kilometre away.
  • Point to the middle of a lawn and identify the utility infrastructure beneath.
  • Point at various points on a blank wall of a building and identify the room on the other side, along with photos of the room and its registered occupant.
  • Point at structures such as an airport terminal building and bring up a floor plan of that building.
  • Point at another part of the terminal and bring up a video clip that simulates the inside of the building. With the wireless capabilities of ike this may be extended to hook up into one of the terminal’s Close Circuit TVs.
